The Ranchers Travel Guide
Subway lines, overnight parking, and skip-driving options across Sunvale's 16 km² map.
Sunvale is large enough that travel is a gameplay system, not just movement. RedPilz added subway stations, overnight parking, skip quest driving, and refined vehicle handling ahead of Early Access on July 30, 2026. This guide explains how to cross the map efficiently without losing vehicles to the Car Pound or wasting real-time minutes on mandatory drive segments.
Subway travel
The June 2026 update expanded subway coverage significantly:
- 15 total stations (8 new stations added)
- Local travel across points of interest without driving
- Bring attached or roped animals on subway rides — critical for moving cattle without a trailer
Subway complements — not replaces — your pickup truck. Use subway for quick town trips; use vehicles for bulk hauling from mines and fields.
Demo players reported occasional subway bugs during Steam Next Fest; patch 0.8.10.420 targeted stability. Report new issues through the in-game Feedback App after Early Access launch.
Overnight parking and impound rules
Starting with the driving overhaul update:
- 17 Overnight Parking locations were added across the map
- Vehicles left outside your ranch or outside Overnight Parking overnight may be impounded
- Impounded vehicles go to the Car Pound — recover via the My Garage smartphone app (apps guide)
Plan parking before logging off in co-op — one friend’s abandoned truck can trigger shared frustration.
Skip quest driving
When a main quest requires driving between two points, you can now skip the driving segment. Your vehicle and all passengers — players, NPCs, and farm animals — teleport directly to the destination.
Designed for players who enjoy ranch chores more than road trips. Available on selected quests only, not every travel objective.
Transit posts and vehicles
Mid-game, build transit posts to fast-travel between ranch, town, mines, and market hubs. The vehicles guide covers pickup unlock and the June 2026 driving rebalance affecting every vehicle class — sports cars, muscle cars, pickups, and utility vehicles each keep distinct handling.
Travel decision matrix
| Situation | Best option |
|---|---|
| Quick town errand | Subway |
| Hauling ore or crops | Pickup truck |
| Moving one animal short distance | Rope + subway |
| Mandatory quest drive (optional skip) | Skip driving button |
| Logging off with vehicle | Ranch garage or Overnight Parking |
| Co-op split errands | One subway, one truck |
Map pins and navigation
Use the map app on your smartphone to set landmarks before traveling. City Hall, Youssef’s stand, Lina’s tools, and Car Pound locations deserve permanent pins after you unlock them.
Early Access launch note
July 30, 2026 brings persistent saves where travel investments — unlocked subway routes, purchased vehicles, recovered impounds — carry forward. Read Early Access details for exact launch timing and GeForce NOW if you stream instead of local play.
